Our new RV is finally here! Mid-February we picked up our long-awaited Leisure Travel Vans, Wonder Rear Lounge. Oh, so very nice to finally have this amazing RV! The people with Van City RV (the dealer we purchased through) did a great job of showing us the different controls and where everything was located. Now time will show us how best to use these new features and have fun doing it. Already we speak highly of the chassis (Ford Eco Transit) features, smooth ride, plenty of power yet economical to pull this heavy RV. The cab made by LTV is definitely airtight, quiet, very comfortable furniture. The layout or floorplan fits our lifestyle extremely well. For example, I am sitting up front at a table writing this update with a cup of coffee (microwave too). Tanya is enjoying staying in bed a little longer (it's Sunday) and anything I am doing is not disturbing her at all.
Last week when I was in NY, Tanya had a minor issue with the water tank level and water pump, called LTV and they talked her right through the fix! I am so relieved that Tanya has additional resources when I am not around.
Maybe not the best pictures but here are a couple to give you an idea of our new RV.This is a nighttime picture with lights on inside showing Tanya working in her new office!
We have wintered over in and near Tampa, FL this year. Kayaking a few times in Crystal River and Homosassa, of course we did see a few sea cows also called manatees. We really enjoy seeing such large gentle creatures up close.
Made new friends in Tampa, got to go to the Ringling Brothers Museum with Theresa.
So cool, a man spent nearly a lifetime creating this model of a circus. I used panoramic to take successive pictures to share how expansive this was.
If you are down that way definitely stop in and enjoy the many things about circus life.
We were still registered for the Rialta Rally, for we have a lot of friends there and we would be welcome even though we have a different make of RV now. So, we get to Fort Pickens for the Pre-Rally and catch up with old friends.
Panoramic shot of us clustered in a circle.
OOPS, I just noticed that our new RV is in the top right of this picture. Did not plan on that but now you can compare the Rialta with the LTV, both still small and maneuverable for sightseeing!
A nice little ride along the seashore!
A man has to have his toys! We worked hard to ensure that both bikes could be carried on the rack. We strongly prefer using the rack for it keeps us maneuverable, and we can park in tight spaces without having to back up with a trailer.
A great couple of weeks with friends then Tanya slowly works her way north to where I am working, until she gets there, I fly in on weekends wherever she is. The campgrounds do not open in NY until the beginning of May, so we are in no hurry to get there.
So Tanya picked me up in Tampa, FL, Pensacola, FL, Atlanta, GA, Baltimore, MD, before we finally arrived in Cooperstown, NY. I only have a month left on this work assignment but now we are together again each night and without having to fly every weekend.
Along this trip we took the time to travel the Cherokee Highway.
Pretty nice drive in spring, seeing the budding flowers at times, trees with flowers of fresh green leaves.
