2016 May visiting Family in Oregon

Whew, I got here and the weather began to warm up every day.

I've done w whirlwind visit of family then headed out after a week to go to Deschutes River for the Salmonfly hatch!

Bob has a new camper and we are tweaking it into shape, he arrived today to join me at the river.

Well, the famous Salmonfly hatch has not begun yet. Only a few bugs are on shore or flying. The fish are not qued into them yet. Even Bob has not caught anything yet!

Bob's lady's have been after him to get away for awhile.  I had to tell him "no politics until the afternoon "! Time to chill, tell lies, fix something the way brothers do.

2026 April Monument Valley, Valley of the God's

Traveling toward Oregon to visit family, I stopped to spend time with a very nice person,  Misty the Queen of remote boondocking!

We found the absolutely most beautiful remote boondocking place ever seen! High on top of a Platou overlooking the San Juan River, Monument Valley, Valley of the Gods National monuments.

I found it on Day's End Directory and Misty found it through other sources. Muley Point is at the top of a road called Moki Dugway. A 10% grade gravel switchback road! Wow, so we went out of route to the town of Blanding, UT to access the Muley Point. Later as we traveled around we would drive the truck up and down this steep road.

Gobblin Valley State Park, stayed overnight in Temple Mountains BLM.

9 mile canyon wad a enjoyable ride, sure was a lot of petroglyphs here.

Whew, spent nearly a week in Hill AFB near Ogden, UT waiting out the only snow they have had this year. Too cold for me! Glad I had electricity!

Layer i was in Twin Falls, ID and disappointed in the poor waterfall because of lack of snow but was able to watch people jump off the bridge with parachutes.

Jerome, ID has an excellent Fairgrounds and I stayed over and was able to watch high school girls rodeo trials.

Later as sun is setting the formerly empty parking lot fills up with kids in formal wear? I was chatting with Minnie and she found online that it is the junior high school prom! Akkk!  Minnie suggested that I lock my doors, pull the drapes and hide! Yep, that what I'm doing!
