Escaping from Hurricane Lee taking 3 days to travel to Quebec City, QB we arrive at KOA. The group had taken the ferry over to the old Quebec City and I rode the motorcycle. It is allot of fun to toodle around the small narrow streets, up and down hills while everyone else is walking. The group said they had walked 14K steps that day!
I could stop nearly anywhere and take pictures, even some areas that had no parking signs for I would only stay a minute while taking a picture. This was so much fun! once there were 5 motorcycle cops, I parked 20M behind them and they pretended they did not see me while I took pictures!
370 steps!
Another stop is a museum and separate location is a village with guided tours all on the Huron Indians AKA Wendat Indians. I had received a private tour for I was the only one requiring English speaking guide.
Longhouses is how the Wendat (Huron) lived in this northern climate. Food is stored in the ends of longhouses, 2 levels allocated for each family living and sleeping areas. Each family had its own firepit. The canoes are stored on upper layers, and the major height is to release campfire smoke so it will not affect your health.
The guide had described to me what is called "the Great Reconciliation" it is now being taught in schools since 2020! I asked allot of questions and learned so much. I am still researching to validate so if I am off that's ok, I prefer that you do your own research, you will be amazed and feel all countries need to approach things the way Canada has!
On another note.... several of us WINs have discussed that Canadians coming to Florida in the winter are rude and terrible people. Here in Canada, they are wonderful friendly people everywhere!
After researching some of the reconciliation I am of the understanding that Canada has changed the culture of all Canadians to live a better life and be happy with themselves as well as others! I plan to seek out Canadians this winter in Florida and see if they are different that previous years.
I love to track and trend things so for this trip I captured all my expenses and using excel categorized them and converted to US dollars. I usually do not stay in campgrounds too often and knew that this large a group of people you cannot boondock so campgrounds is definitely the way to go.
This ends the WIN's Circuit to Canadian Maritimes. What a wonderful 6 weeks traveling with a bunch of nomads!
Great meeting and having a drink with you at the KOA in Quebec City!
