2025 July Fishing, bicycling PA

The last week of June, Tanya came out to the fishing spot for some R &R. It's so great to spend some time together! She has been working so very hard and not much else. To get away for a time truly gave her a break!

So we did as all RVrs do and that's play tourist! Albert Gallatin was one of the "Big Three Politicians" he along with Thomas Jefferson, James Madison. This is evident in Lewis and Clark naming 3 rivers in Montana for these men.

He became the chief spokesman on financial matters for the Democratic-Republican Party and led opposition to the Federalist economic program. Gallatin helped Thomas Jefferson prevail in the contentious 1800 U.S. presidential election, and his reputation as a prudent financial manager led to his appointment as Treasury Secretary. Under Jefferson, Gallatin reduced government spending, instituted checks and balances for government expenditures, and financed the Louisiana Purchase and advocated for internal improvements, most notably through his Report on Roads and Canals. He retained his position through James Madison's administration until February 1814, maintaining much of Hamilton's financial system while presiding over a reduction in the national debt. Gallatin served on the American commission that agreed to the Treaty of Ghent, which ended the War of 1812. In the aftermath of the war, he helped found the Second Bank of the United States.

Frank Llyod Wright designed 2 homes close by each other and right down the road from our campsite. Falling Waters and Kentuk Knob.
I have to disagree with FLW that placing the house over the top of the waterfall makes you a part of the waterfall. My belief is that viewing the waterfall is much more enjoyable for the view changes often.

I'm getting a little better at doing a selfie!

Tanya's visit was short 4 days but very restful for her.

Another WIN friend Janet Henry came to here for the fishing. She stayed and we spent allot of time fishing, hiking, bicycle ridding the Great Allegheny bike trail.

What a view from the bike trail!

The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. We rode our bicycles through it. Total ride 63 miles!

We have seen quite allot of wildlife along the bike paths. Suicidal chipmunks (run right under your wheels), bird flew under my car tire, deer, eagles, mink.
Fishing we caught rainbow trout, smallmouth bass, bream. I kind of liked the smallmouth, tey faught pretty damn good!

Troll village along the trail, cool

Yep, we play disc golf too!

  1. Please tell Tanya I said ‘Hi.’

And… I agree with you on the Wright house. I’d like to see more of the waterfall, from a distance.
